Service-Specific Usage Policies
Vodacom Home Internet โ Fair Usage Policy
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Hosting private servers, VPNs, email, or network services.
- Use by Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs).
- Unattended automated processes.
- Any non-personal use that places an excessive burden on the network.
To maintain optimal performance for all users, we reserve the right to manage users who exceed fair usage thresholds. Speed limitations apply once the monthly usage limit is reached and reset on the 1st of each month.

The following usage restrictions apply:

Network Management & Capacity
Somangaye Internet works in close partnership with Vodacom, MTN, and Telkom to ensure fair access and optimal performance for all users. While we strive to maintain consistent service quality, please note that full network capacity cannot always be guaranteed, especially during peak usage periods.
Telkom Uncapped Home Internet โ Fair Usage Policy
Telkomโs Fair Usage Policy is designed to ensure equitable access to network resources. Speed reductions are applied based on usage thresholds and reset monthly.
Telkom Home Internet Bronze
- First 100GB: Full speed at 20Mbps
- Next 20GB: Throttled to 4Mbps
- Unlimited thereafter: Throttled to 2Mbps
Note: P2P/NNTP traffic may be further throttled.
Telkom Home Internet Silver
- First 500GB: Full speed at 20Mbps
- Next 50GB: Throttled to 4Mbps
- Unlimited thereafter: Throttled to 2Mbps
Note: P2P/NNTP traffic may be further throttled.
Telkom Home Internet Gold
- First 600GB: Full speed at 30Mbps
- Next 50GB: Throttled to 4Mbps
- Unlimited thereafter: Throttled to 2Mbps
Note: P2P/NNTP traffic may be further throttled.
Additional Network Management
Telkom reserves the right to further throttle or terminate service for users whose behaviour negatively impacts network performance. This includes:
- Excessive concurrent sessions
- Use of bandwidth-intensive protocols (e.g., Peer-to-Peer, NNTP)
- Activities that cause network congestion
These measures are in place to ensure a stable and fair experience for all users on the Telkom network.
